The Stomach Flip

For the comfortably numb, like myself,
who need to shake things up a bit. Inspired by "Sleep No More", theatre, art, books, music, food, philosophy, and the Tumblr community
La Clairvoyance, 1936, Magritte.
Part of the new exhibit at MOMA called "Magritte:  The Mystery of the Ordinary, 1926-1938".  There are a lot of really interesting paintings but this one caught my eye as it reminded me of one of the residents of The McKittrick Hotel.
It’s really a portrait of Malcolm MacCrinain.  Magritte must have captured the moment just a few years before Duncan, Malcolm, and Mr. Reid set up shop in Gallow Green.  Everyone needs a hobby after all.  After a difficult day of detective work  I would imagine that after painting for a few hours  it provides Malcolm with enough respite to clear his befuddled mind.
